more about dr. Shannon Cleverley-Thompson

Dr. Shannon Cleverley-Thompson is passionate about providing leadership coaching and consulting to the Rochester community that demonstrates measurable and positive changes in leadership behavior and organizational outcomes. She believes that if she is not learning then she isn’t leading. This is why you can always find her reading several books at the same time, asking questions, and conducting research. Dr. Cleverley-Thompson has shown to be a resilient, authentic and transformational leader based on her work in higher education and non-profit administration. Colleagues have described her as compassionate, forward-thinking, a change agent, and a leader that a goes above and beyond to accomplish goals and objectives.

  • Currently serving as Visiting Assistant Professor at St. John Fisher College for the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. School of Education’s Ed.D. Program in Executive Leadership.

  • One of the few certified facilitators for The Leadership Challenge workshops in the Rochester area.

  • More than 15 years of leadership experience in higher education administration positions at Keuka College and St. John Fisher College.

  • Dr. Cleverley-Thompson has a strong background in not-for-profit leadership based on her work at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, the Victorian Council of YMCA in Australia and more. Her current research interests include innovation practices of senior leaders in higher education and leadership coaching.  

  • Dr. Cleverley-Thompson grew up in the state of Kansas but has lived in Rochester, NY with her husband and two sons since 2001
